Fiber Night and Play Day Wednesday have the same set of rules just different time frames.
Fiber Night is on Tuesdays from 6-8pm, while Play Day Wednesday is from10am - 5pm on Wednesday. Please like and follow Lone Star Yarn on Facebook and/or Instagram for Closures or Store events.
Now for rules and regulations. These should be common place, as Lone Star Yarn IS a place of business. I have now found out that some rules need to be in place for everyone in on same standings.
1. Adult language. This means cussing like, FU, GD, Shit, F..k, Damit, or any combination or colorful negative phrases. I can NOT have that language spoken in store. Also the adult topics like bar hopping, excisive violence, drug use stories, or any other negative topics.
This is my lively hood you are socializing in, and I can not have people discouraged to visit, shop, or warn people to come to due to these types of topics.
2. Politics. Personal politics and how you feel about someone else's vote needs to remain private. Here at Lone Star Yarn, I want everyone regardless of their political standings feel comfortable and welcomed. There is to much division in this world as is. My point of view will always be, "My friendship with you will always out weight my political views!" Please charish that concept.
3. Religion. It is on the same line as politics. These are meant to be individualized. Meaning your belief is meant for how YOU wish to live, and mine are for me. My religious beliefs are NOT meant for you to follow. They are my guide on how I view, treat, and react to the things in this world. If you really want to know MY beliefs on a personal level, then by all means come in and we can talk. Just know, like my political views, "Your friendship is more important than discussing my religious views."
4. Drinks and snacks. Yes, they are FREE and you are welcome to them. They do come out of either my personal funds or the stores. Depending on who has the availability to purchase them. There is a reason for the tip cup in the chips. Those tips help pay for the snacks and drinks. You are welcome to contribute to the tip cup, bring in your own drinks (in a closed container), your own snack, or bring in plenty for all to share.
All I ask is that you clean up after yourself. Remember I am the ONLY one that works the store and it will help a lot.
5. Negative talk. We all have days that are hard. Shoot some of us have had weeks like that. Please come on in and let us try and help lift your spirits a bit and leave the world outside the store. To much negative talk will bring down the spirit of the store, and will drive people away. Again, Lone Star Yarn IS a place of business, and I really need to keep the atmosphere in here as lively and happy as possible.
All of these rules are NOT to dishearten anyone, nor discourage anyone from coming in. Just simply a reminder, Lone Star Yarn is here because of the community and the social atmosphere. So, help me keep Lone Star Yarn a warm and welcoming store for people to share their stitching and uplifting each other with positivity.
Thank you.
